About James Ross

I believe that web3 technology creates a superior coordination mechanism for building and operating products, and transferring value. I find growing protocols a fascinating challenge as it requires deep technical knowledge, an understanding of game theory and economic incentive models and data-driven growth modelling.

I'm currently the Founer of Mode, the L2 designed for growth. Previously I was Managing Director of Hype, the largest Web3 community and marketing agency. At Hype I helped scale leading Web3 ecosystems such as NEAR, Polygon, Dfinity, dYdX and many more.

Previously I worked in fintech, founded the DeFi consultancy agency0x (acquired), and advised/invested in 30+ web3 startups.  

I am an advisor to Hashflow, Herkshire Bathaway, and an investor in EigenLayer, Avalanche, The Graph, Zerion and 20+ other Web3 startups.
